A Hindu temple in California, USA, was vandalized with anti-India and pro-Khalistan graffiti on its exterior walls, prompting concern from External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The incident occurred at Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Newark, where ‘Khalistan’ was spray-painted on a signpost. Jaishankar stated that the Indian consulate has lodged a complaint, emphasizing that extremist and separatist forces outside India should not find space. The Newark police are investigating the matter, with any hate-motivated crimes considered a high priority. The Consulate General of India in San Francisco strongly condemned the defacement and called for swift action against the vandals.
